This is my Autumn offering : on the land, outdoors, claiming our space, singing our songs, dropping in to connect with tree and river energy.
I’m combining two of my regular offerings into one at this autumn equinox portal, as late summer gets SO busy in Adelaide. I still wanted to take advantage of what I trust will be a fine afternoon for us to have some nature play-time, and if it’s warm on the day, there’s a quiet riverside beach a few steps away to have a swim or dip our toes.
The invitation is for women to join in singing sacred songs together, sharing in the sacrament of cacao, outside, in the elements, in a sheltered little park, alongside the river, just south of Mylor town.
It’s an easy park to find, just past the very first house on your right as you turn into Silver Lake road, easy access, plenty of nearby parking, just bring your picnic rugs and cushions, water, journals and anything else you need to be comfortable for the 3-4 hours we’ll journey together. I’ve rarely seen another soul in it, there is a lot of shade from the towering gum trees and quite honestly, I don’t care if anyone sees us!
We’ll start with checking in, some stretching, sharing, and then learn a song or two. We’ll share the cacao around and have a guided meditation, with space to feel into what is moving for us. I also wanted to do some journaling.. a meditation of sorts in itself. Questions are offered up and we get the chance to inquire within and quietly journal our reflections.
The connection to the outside space is really important at this time. Nature doesn’t know the human art of deception. She never lies. There’s no ego. Just herself as she comes. As we immerse in nature, our natural self is called up to resurface. And part of our inquiry into this practice is “How do I feel about claiming my space in the world?” I know it was hard for some of us to show up and “perform” in front of a crowd at the music night a few weeks back at Lugnasadh. As we now move into the full harvest time that is the Autumn Equinox, we will be gathering together in a “public” space, (albeit, a little known, and rarely visited space), so the invitation here is, “Can I claim this space, in my body; singing, moving and meditating with my sisters, where outside eyes may see me?”
Part of my work at this time, is to move ever more powerfully, into the truth of who I am, and express this, freely, come what may. And part of that is to encourage others to do the same.
So the themes are, meeting the fullness of who we are, bringing the inner truth into external expression; abundant, rich and bountiful, like the fruits, vegetables and flowers at harvest time. When we harvest these gifts, they will sustain us in the cold dark of winter that lies ahead. Do we leave the fruit rotting on the ground? Or do we collect and sort it, to nourish our future selves?
The autumn portal is rich in metaphor and symbolism.
The exchange for this offering is $20.
Pay in cash on the day.
No toilets sorry… bush wees will be fine, nearest toilets a short 1 minute drive away at the Mylor Oval.
I’ll provide other refreshments and feel free to bring whatever overflow you’d like from your garden to share and adorn our jointly created altar.
Let’s make this a sharing of the fruits of our inner and outer endeavours!

Blessings of late summer days …
Until we meet..
